Pond Fountains for 2 Acre Ponds

At 2 acres you are past the point where a 1 HP fountain makes much of a statement. The sweet spot is 2 HP to 3 HP: the Kasco 8400JF and 8400VFX, the Kasco 3.1JF, Otterbine's 2 HP and 3 HP Concept 3 fountains (Gemini, Genesis, Tri Star, Saturn and more), or the Scott Aerator DA-20, Amherst, Clover and Great Lakes in 2 HP and 3 HP. A 2 HP aerating fountain like the 8400VFX moves enough water to keep a 2 acre pond from going stagnant in summer; a decorative J Series or Otterbine unit gives you the tall pattern with lighter aeration.

Quick sizing guide: about 1.5 HP per acre when the fountain is also your aeration, 1 HP per acre for display only. Allow 3 feet of water under the float and choose a cord long enough to reach a 230V supply on shore.
