Pond Fountains for 1 Acre Ponds

One acre is the most common pond size we sell for, and it is where the choice between a decorative fountain and an aerating fountain really matters. For a 1 acre pond, 1 HP to 2 HP is the range: the Kasco 4400VFX (1 HP) and 8400VFX (2 HP) if you want oxygen first and a V-shaped display second, the Kasco 4400JF and 8400JF J Series or Otterbine's 1 HP and 2 HP Concept 3 fountains for tall, interchangeable patterns, and the Scott Aerator DA-20, Amherst and Clover in 1 HP to 2 HP. Many customers pair a 1 HP fountain with a small diffused aeration system for round-the-clock oxygen.

Quick sizing guide: roughly 1.5 HP per acre for aeration duty, 1 HP per acre for display. You need at least 2 to 3 feet of water under the float, and a 1 HP unit runs fine on 115V while most 2 HP units want 230V.
