Why You Need a Pressure Relief Valve

Aeration systems push air through weighted tubing to diffusers at the pond bottom. If a diffuser clogs with sediment, tubing kinks, or ice blocks an airline in winter, pressure builds against the compressor. Without a relief valve, this back pressure can overheat the motor, damage internal seals, and shorten compressor life significantly. This inexpensive valve provides critical insurance for your aeration investment.

Installation

Thread directly into the compressor outlet or airline manifold. Position between the compressor and any valves or check valves in the system. No tools beyond a wrench are required. Inspect seasonally and test by briefly blocking the airline to confirm the valve releases air.
