Otterbine Power Cable - # 8/3 - per ft.

Once you have chosen your dream Otterbine fountain, there is one more thing that you need to do - buy the power cable, as they are sold without it. And while it is not forbidden to use a cable from another manufacturer, it’s better not to.

The Otterbine cable was designed with underwater, high current, and industrial applications in mind. The material used to produce it is called thermoset. It is a special kind of rubber, which sets once it is directly exposed to heat, and which will not re-soften even when exposed to heat again.

There are various types of power cables available on the market. Most of the Otterbine ones are the SOOW type, except for the Fractional/Light 12/3 & Light 16/2 cables, which are the SJOOW type.

Remember that the longer the power cable is, the heavier gauge it needs to be. When measuring how much cable you will need, you may want to allow some extra slack, so that the cable will sit at the bottom of the pond.
