For our pond size, 8.5' is fine. What is the width of the impacted area. We have a small pond that's 4' deep and only 15' by 35'. thnx.
    1 Answer
There are 30 spray patterns with the absolute widest pattern being 25' so you should be good with 35'.

will this fountain need to be removed in the winter
    1 Answer
Marty, it looks like you are in New York and I know ponds typically freeze there in the winter, so for you the answer would be yes they need to be removed for winter. However, if for those of us in the south where ponds do not freeze over they fountains can remain throughout the winter.

My pond is 52,000 sq ft with average depth of 10 foot, what fountain would you recommend
    1 Answer
The rule of thumb for sizing a fountain is 1.5 HP per acre so you have approx 1.25 acres so I would recommend at least a 2 HP if you are concerned about aeration and proper sizing: http://www.livingwateraeration.com/vfx8400h.html I mean if you are not concerned about aeration or the spray dimensions you could get any fountain that you want. The problem with say putting a 1/2 HP in the middle of a 1.5 acre pond is that it might look disproportionate. Obviously how something looks is very subjective but that is my opinion. If you have a cove or an inlet where you want to put a smaller fountain that can look pretty decent but you might want to check the spray heights and widths to make sure whatever fountain you purchase is an adequate size.

The depth of our small pond fluctuates with the weather. but typically is only 6'-8' deep. What is the minimum depth required for this fountain? We have an old Power House F1000 (230v) from the previous owner that worked regardless of depth as long as the pump had water but now no longer works. We don't need 230v.
    1 Answer
It can operate in as little as 15 inches of water. Therefore a 6 to 8 foot depth would be no problem at all for this fountain.
